Default Defamation/Slander South Carolina

Hi I am new here and have a question regarding defamation/slander. I have a neighbor that I had a falling out with about 3 years ago (up until that time we were very close) and since that time she has been spreading untrue statements thoughout our community about me and generally harrassing me.

A little backround. I moved to the area about 6 years ago. I helped the neighbor with her horse breeding/farm operations on a daily basis for over 3 years. I was doing work for her from the time I got home from my regular job until about 10p.m. daily and then all day on Saturday and Sunday. I was not able to take any time for things that I needed to do around my house. Being new to the area I was not aware of this womans reputation of "using" people and once you diagreed with her she would start spreading rumors and lies about you. She has done this to at least 5 people in the area prior to me and several since then.

She has told her farier, vet, feed store people that I am "certifiabley insane" and should be avoided. Along with other vicious lies.

Well for the last 3 years I have just been going about my business not knowing for sure she was saying anything about me to anybody, however, I recieved a phone call last week from a horse trainer that had been working for her for the last 4 months and has now left her employ. Neighbor is now trying to ruin this young trainers reputation and trainer called to let me know what this person has been saying about me to anyone and everyone. So now I have the proof (along with a long list of names of people that this neighbor has slandered me to) that she is truely slandering me. Wondered why the vet, farrier and other were so "standoffish" over the last 3 years had my suspicions but now have the proof.

Now I do not want anything monitarily I just want to shut this woman up and make her aware that you can not run around bad-mouthning people the way she does without any consiquences.
